Our stock now includes reclaimed railway sleepers and wagon planks. The railway sleepers have been sliced horizontally, making them thinner and more versatile. The wagon planks come from trains that used to transport freight. As a result, both have wonderful patina from decades of use, giving them rustic charm and character that cannot be fabricated.
As these railway sleepers and wagon planks have not been coated in creosote and do not contain nails, they can be repurposed to build fantastic furniture, interior decoration for your home and great features in your garden.
Inspirational uses for railway sleepers and wagon planks
Inside the home, you can use these railway sleepers or wagon planks to create a wooden panel wall, flooring, doors, frames, roof panelling, mantelpieces and stair treads.
For outside in the garden, wagon planks can be used to build feature walls, walkways, garden planters, decks and patios, or you can use decorative garden sleepers for edging beds and paths. If you are planning on constructing furniture with them, they make terrific table tops, shelving, coffee tables, cabinets, benches and bed frames.
