Variety of wood species for different purposes

Hardwood planks can be used in carpentry for many different purposes. Our hardwood planks come in different lengths, thicknesses and wood species, such as oak, ash, beech, sycamore and cherry. Due to their durability and strength, hardwood planks are well suited for building furniture, tables, counters, cabinetry and flooring. They can also be used in the construction of framing, roofing, and as joists, beams, stud partitioning and sheathing in building projects. Depending on their intended use and the look you want to create, hardwood planks need to be finished and treated with a stain, varnish, oil or paint.

Hardwood flooring

Proper maintenance is essential for preserving the beauty and longevity of hardwood floors. This includes regular cleaning, avoiding excessive moisture exposure, and refinishing as needed to remove scratches and wear. Although hardwood flooring can be more expensive than other flooring options, such as laminate or carpet, it is considered a worthwhile investment due to its durability and timeless appeal.

Locally sourced hardwood planks

Our hardwood planks are locally sourced and kiln dried at our workshop in East Sussex. They can either be supplied in their natural rough sawn state for further finishing by you, or we can plane them to a smooth finish, ready for fine sanding, sealing or staining.

We do not import any wood from overseas and we are proud to say that our hardwood planks predominately come from trees felled due to ill health, storm damage or because they have outgrown their intended space.
