Book matched panels, also referred to as book matched planks or book matched slabs, are when two successive cuts of wood are taken from the same tree. Joining these two pieces together will gives the impression of a mirror image, or an open book.
Our book matched wood pairs come from various different tree species, including ash, cedar and elm. Each pair is completely unique and can be used to create one-of-a-kind table tops, desks and bars.

All of our book matched slabs are kiln dried, a process that we have perfected over the years. Before going into the kiln, our timber is left to air-dry naturally outside in our yard. After a minimum of three years, we place the timber into our kiln to be dried. Our method uses a low heat for around 8-12 weeks, which removes all of the moisture and prepares the book matched planks for use. Once the drying process is complete, the ends of our timber slabs are removed, as these are liable to splitting.
